Jersey County IL Republicans

Our Republican Party was formed in the 1850’s with goals of eliminating slavery and providing freedom and opportunity for all.  The party nominated Abraham Lincoln from central Illinois as its 1860 presidential candidate.  Lincoln became the first Republican president.

The Republican Party today strives for a government limited in size that guarantees freedom and opportunity, safeguards constitutional rights, ensures voting integrity, and protects and serves its citizens. 

We love our country with its inspirational history, its beauty and productivity, its good-hearted people, and its heroes. We believe its government should be worthy of its heritage. 

We want to return Illinois – the Land of Lincoln – to being a state that attracts new citizens and companies instead of losing population while neighboring states grow.

We want Jersey County leaders who represent our Midwest conservative values and who will speak on our behalf  across our county, state, and nation. 

In 1860 the Republican Party was our best hope against slavery, today the Republican Party is our best hope against excessive government control, censorship, anti-police and pro-criminal laws, the indoctrination instead of education of our students, and damaging economic and tax policies.
